Bringing Lived Experience to Page, Stage, and Screen.
Invisible Disabilities. Real Barriers. Practical Help.
Blending comedy, compassion, and craft, Brandon creates meaningful work across writing, performance, and film that inspires authentic human connection.
From Lived Experience to Lasting Impact
Brandon’s work spans advocacy, writing, and entertainment — each project built to connect, educate, and leave audiences inspired.
A Life Shaped by Experience
Brandon’s journey began in 1993, navigating schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and schizoaffective disorder. Through writing, comedy, and public speaking, he transformed those challenges into creative purpose. His storytelling style—grounded, honest, and funny—became his bridge to others who felt unseen.
Early Advocacy and Public Speaking
In 2004, Brandon launched Finding Your Marbles, a Speaking for Mental Health initiative supported by Janssen Pharmaceuticals and the Ontario Schizophrenia Society. The program gave him a national stage and helped define his signature tone: authentic, hopeful, and accessible.
Writing, Journalism, and Poetry
For over a decade, Brandon wrote more than 150 columns for Northumberland News, shaping a trusted voice in community mental health. His poetry chapbooks—The Love Marble and Bleeding Heart Fist Fight—capture raw emotion in small, resonant bursts that mirror the philosophy behind Snackable Mental Health.
Comedy and Connection
Trained at Toronto’s Comedy Green Room, Brandon’s humor became both a survival tool and a teaching method. His ability to balance levity with sincerity helps audiences and readers approach mental health conversations with comfort, not fear.
Making Mental Health Human Again
Snackable Mental Health grew from Brandon’s belief that big topics need small, digestible conversations. What began as a podcast has evolved into a multimedia platform spanning essays, motivational content, a video game project, and an upcoming documentary — all designed to support real people in real life.
Scripts with Substance, Stories with Soul
Now enrolled at Toronto Film School’s Writing for Film and Television program, Brandon is bringing his lived experience to the screen. His current projects — Stick, Tapestry, Fine Red, and Mayor of Nowhere — blend humor, honesty, and emotional intelligence to tell stories that stay with audiences long after the credits roll.
